Texas A&M AgriLife (AgriLife) is committed to upholding the highest standard of ethical conduct and compliance with the legal obligations of the AgriLife components. In support of these efforts, the AgriLife Ethics & Compliance Office has been established within AgriLife Administrative Services to provide risk and management advisory services, as well as to promote compliance with applicable federal, state, Texas A&M University System, and agency laws, policies, regulations, rules, and procedures.
Compliance Programs
System Ethics and Compliance Regulation 16.01.01 states that our agency is responsible for: establishing an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct and compliance with its legal obligations; complying with all applicable federal and state laws; and satisfying any relevant reporting obligations required by law.
The AgriLife Ethics & Compliance Office was therefore established to provide an infrastructure to systematically identify and address risks, so that faculty and staff are aware of their ethical and compliance responsibilities. The office is overseen by the agency’s compliance officer.
In cooperation with our compliance committee, we have the overall responsibility to develop, implement, and monitor the agency’s ethics and compliance plan. In addition, the compliance program will facilitate the sharing of resources and expertise so that we maximize the sharing of costs and best practices between System agencies and components. We will serve as a central source of ethics and compliance information for the employees and management of the agency.
