Titles and Pay Rates

Texas A&M University System – Wide Pay Plan
All System-wide pay plan titles, generic job descriptions if available, required education/work experience and pay grade can now be found in Workday by searching as follows:
In the search bar next to the magnifying glass enter Job: Title of Position you are searching for
Click on the magnifying glass (be sure you are searching All of Workday category
Click on the job profile you want that appears in the Search Results – view the following information:
Overview tab – shows title code, job description if available, job family and job classification codes
Compensation tab – shows pay grade and will say “commensurate” if the title is not in the pay plan.
Qualifications tab – there are sub tabs where you can view required education and years of work experience for that title
Pay tab – indicates pay rate type (salaried or hourly) and job exempt (yes or no)
Contact your HR Generalist at AgriLife HR office for assistance with determining appropriate pay plan titles to use based on job duties.

Pay Grades – Unit heads have approval to hire within the lower band. For the following research titles, unit heads have approval to hire up to top of middle band (Research Assistant, Research Associate, Senior Research Associate, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Assistant Research Scientist, Associate Research Scientist, Research Scientist, Assistant Research Specialist, Associate Research Specialist, Research Specialist). Approval to hire above these rates requires written approval by the director or designee.
