Parking and Bus Routes
Parking can be a different experience for everyone. Some A&M employees work in buildings off-campus where parking may not be an issue, however, for many employees working on-campus, parking is an important consideration.
Parking Permits
There are some places on campus where you can pay to park by the hour. There are also some locations where you can park, free of charge, for 15 or 30 minutes. These options are great for visitor parking, but if you plan on driving to work on a consistent basis, you will need to buy an annual parking permit.
- The cost of a parking permit can vary. Review the annual rates and payment options so you will know what to expect.
- Don’t try to purchase a permit on your own. Your supervisor or Human Resources representative will help you with the process when you start work.

Taking the Bus
A&M has an excellent transit system available to students, faculty, and staff. There are many routes to choose from, and wait times are minimal (3-10 minutes in many cases). If you live close to an off-campus route, riding the shuttle to work can be even more convenient than driving. While on A&M’s large campus, using the on-campus shuttles can save you a good deal of time and effort, too.

- Take note that the service schedule changes for nights, weekends, and different times during the year.

During peak times, a bus may have “standing room” only. It normally doesn’t take long to figure out when these times are for your route (8:00 a.m. is a common one). Leaving just 10 minutes earlier or later can help you miss the crowds.
