Extended Pay Plandown arrow
Horizontal Rule Line

This program allows employees who work less than 12 months a year to extend their pay over a full 12 months.  You can elect to reduce the net amount of your paycheck by 12.5% or 25% for each of the nine months of September through May and all tax withholding will be taken on a monthly basis when earned. Therefore, federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes will be deducted from your full pay during the months you work and your Extended Pay Plan deduction is an after tax deduction. Texas A&M AgriLife will hold these funds for the purpose of distributing the balance to you in three equal payments of June, July and August. Participation in this plan is not an extension of your employment contract and an employment period of less than twelve months is a requirement for participation in the Extended Pay Plan.  Participation in the Extended Pay Plan begins with the first available monthly pay date after you file a properly completed enrollment form and there are no catch-up provisions for any expired portion of the fiscal year.

An additional 25% of your monthly out-of-pocket insurance premiums will be withheld each month to cover your summer premiums. This money will then be distributed to you in May along with your May paycheck.

You will not receive any interest earnings for these funds held by Texas A&M AgriLife.

If you would like to enroll, please complete the Extended Pay Plan Form: AG-506 and return to Payroll at MS 2147.

Please contact Payroll Services at 979-845-3636 or email agpayroll@ag.tamu.edu for questions or assistance.
